From the editor’s introduction: “This book was written in French, and is in fact being printed in Paris at this time. Its author intended to make a complete account of the background and development of the war waged by Chile against the allied republics of Peru and Bolivia, especially for foreigners who wish to know about these events.”

Condition: worn corners, 1cm chip to upper spine, slightly  toned, contemporary ink signature, bookplate of  Charles Crofton-Atkins.  Good.
