Based in London I have been buying and selling books for more than twenty years. I am of Spanish-American ancestry and naturally my area of interest has always been books from or about the Spanish speaking world. Within this field I am especially interested in books from the Spanish Golden Age and in nineteen century books from the newly created American Republics.
Every book tells more than one story. So, often beyond the content or provenance of a book, there are interesting stories to discover in the cultural context, the author’s biography, or the historical period of the publication.

Jorge Luis Borges
The composition of vast books is a laborious and impoverishing extravagance. To go on for five hundred pages developing an idea whose perfect oral exposition is possible in a few minutes! A better course of procedure is to pretend that these books already exist, and then to offer a resume, a commentary…. More reasonable, more inept, more indolent, I have preferred to write notes upon imaginary books.
