The current Republic of Colombia was called the United States of Colombia between 1863 and 1886. The 1873 code was approved by Congress that same year. The book offered here was printed in Bogota in 1882 by the curiously named “Zalamea Brothers Steam Printing Press.” The title page is inscribed in ink: “Colombian Legation in England.” Provenance: from the collection of Professor Malcolm Deas, (1941-2023), an Emeritus Fellow of St Antony’s College, Oxford, 

Condition: volume 2 cloth split at front joints, title and first’s pages browned, worn extremities, small tear w/ loss (2cm). repaired. Please see pictures.
