Published in 1879,  the Diccionario Biográfico comprises biographical sketches of individuals who played pivotal roles in the independence movements of Nueva Granada (now Colombia), Venezuela, Ecuador, and Peru. The book was part of a broader 19th-century Latin American post-independence nation-building movement  and the  formation of national  identity.  Offer here is the first edition of a book that has been reprinted multiple times due to its historical significance.    From the collection of Professor Malcolm Deas, (1941-2023), an Emeritus Fellow of St Antony’s College, Oxford,
